Back home I started up my own Photographic Business called Chasing Light (www.chasinglight.com.au) where I mainly focused on pro-bono work to get myself some exposure. I worked primarily on Portraiture, both in the studio and on location.

I have had several assistant roles with a Melbourne based Photographer by the name of David Simmonds (http://www.simmonds.com.au/) which saw me shooting the 2011 AgIdeas International Design Week, L'Oral Melbourne Fashion Festival and several other smaller gigs.

I have a hunger for knowledge and commitment to everything I do. I am friendly, creative, reliable and most importantly fiercely passionate about Photography and Lighting.

If ever I can be of assistance to anyone, don't hesitate to get in contact.
My email is timjjackson@gmail.com. More than happy to send a CV to anyone who wants it.

Cheers

Tim Jackson

Edited by timothyjackson - 25 January 2012 at 9:33am

Either that or they moved on and forgot to tell me. I'm not sure what I hope is the more true of those statements.

Your dilemma; I went to college did an A-Level and now I'm on the final year of my degree course. Best thing I ever did but not everyone is the same. The online resources at your disposal are staggering take advantage and have a nose around you'll find a lot. I started out just reading stuff online try www.silverlight.co.uk. I would avoid distance learning courses they aren't all they're cracked up to be.

If you need specific technical advise I can probably help otherwise the best thing to do is find images that inspire you, work out why they inspire you and build on that. Your own style is a progressive thing.
