Dex is a visual artist residing in Brooklyn, New York. A graduate from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Advertising Photography. Currently working as a freelance photo assistant and digital technician. Aside from commercial work Dex also creates and sells his own original artwork. The artwork of Dex would be described as Visionary Art. With his work he seeks to explore the connection between our physical world and the spiritual realm. His passion for understanding and studying the many different religions and philosophies around the world inspires him to create his artwork. By experimenting with photography and digital manipulation, Dex hopes to enlighten his viewers with unique, surreal imagery.

I've been working in the photography industry for more than 6 years, freelancing as light and digital photo assistant. Worked with photographers like Santiago & Mauricio, Solve Sundsbo, Alex Bramall, Tomo Brejc and David Goldman. On digital I know the current softwares Photoshop and Capture One (Phase One Certified Professional), and I have a digital kit with all the needed software, adapters and cables available. Lighting wise i?m comfortable with flash and continuous light, covering all the main brands used in the industry. About cameras, I'm familiar with the main brand digital systems, also with loading film in 35mm, 120mm and large format analog cameras.

I began taking lifestyle themed photographs from the age of 13/14 and focused on sport, landscape and general all round photography. I then studied photography at A level, where I focused on Film photography and began to find my full passion for photography. I then continued and passed Art Foundation with a Distinction, where I began to explore sculptures with my photography. I am currently in my second year of study at Cardiff Metropolitan where I study Fine Art and focus my practice on photography and producing zines. Within the past year I have been working with a fashion brand 'Carpe Diem Vintage' where I take on commercial photography, document their stock and producing images for the social media and marketing content.
