London, London
I'm a freelance digital operator and photographers assistant based in London. I've assisted a range of different photographers over 5 years. Mainly portrait, fashion and food photographers both on location and in a studio. I'm Phase One certified to use Capture One and Phase One cameras and backs. I'm also pretty good with Lightroom 4/5 and Photoshop CS6. Like all assistants I have truly nailed the art of tea making and entertaining clients. I also shoot behind the scenes stills and films as part of my assisting service if required.

Born in Milan, I took up photography as a child. After high school, I graduated in Digital Communications at the University of Milan and then took a Master in Photography at the Italian Institute of Photography. I was then employed by the Italian Institute of Photography where I was a studio assistant with managing duties and a photographer on allocated projects. I am also an expert retoucher and producer. I love my dog Nina, colours and learning new things. I am hard-working, fast-learning and always on the go. Some other skills that sometime come in handy on shootings: affinity with animals, very good with childern (even newborns!).

Capable of making high quality and well respected coffee and tea based beverages at a moments notice in the midst of busy and highly stressful situations. Working semi-professionally as a photographer for the past 18 months but looking to gain more knowledge of the industry alongside fine tuning business practices and technical and artistic skill before taking the leap into making it my primary form of income. Extremely happy to travel far and perform menial labour in return for the opportunity to observe and learn. I've worked primarily in the fields of portraitures, concerts, events and nightclub photography. I've also produced some travel and documentary projects which are areas i shall explore and engage with more thoroughly in the future.

My name is Alessandra. I am based in Cambridge/London but I am available for assignments all over the UK and abroad. Since completing my diploma of photography from The Photography Institute, I have been working on several food and life style assignments for different businesses in the UK and abroad. This gave me the opportunity to work in different weather and light conditions, and gain an appreciation of the many unforeseen problems that the photographer might face on a shoot, and the need to find fast and effective solutions for them. - I am very reliable, never late, always smiling. - I have very good interpersonal skills that allow me to feel comfortable with different types of customers, to make sure things run as smoothly as possible on the day of the shoot. - Good sense of humour and an endless passion for learning. - I speak fluent Italian (being Italian and all), English and have a good knowledge of French. - Experience shooting on location for lifestyle/food - Experience retouching and archiving images in Lightroom - Experience using Canon 5D and setting up system to shoot tethered. Oh, and did I mention that cup of tea?
I studied professional photography at the London School of Photography which covered all aspects of photography. Studio, Food, Product, Portrait, Photo Journalism, Photoshop etc. As a result of that my work has been exhibited in a studio in Shoreditch and Swiss Cottage. Since then I've been shooting portraits, weddings, movie stills and assisted in a Studio. I love working with people and to create stunning results together. I can be a bit of a perfectionist but don't see that as a problem for anyone else than me. If need be I'm a fast learner and very adaptable.
- Graduate MA Photography and Urban Cultures from Goldsmiths, University of London I have extensive experience in both assisting and photography. Over the past few years I have been working on and developing my personal practice as well as assisting in wide variety and photographic and video shoots. I have worked on projects ranging from commercial / fashion to documentary and therefore feel perfectly comfortable working in the studio or on location. I have ample experience working with different photographic and image software, mainly: Photoshop CS6, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Lightroom and Capture One. I use a combination of digital and analog cameras and formats in my personal work, so I am familiar with and feel comfortable handling a variety of camera systems (Canon, Nikon, Leica, Mamiya, Hasseblad, Yashica, Ricoh). I also know how to handle and digitally scan film. I am very friendly, creative, hard working, dependable and a good problem solver. I love assisting, take direction well and don't mind the long hours or working in harsh weather. Every assisting assingment is a new and great challenge, it's also a fantastic and invaluable opportunity to learn and see how other photographers go about doing their thing. Being a photographer myself I know how hard it can be to get the shot you want sometimes but I also know the great satisfaction that comes when you actually do. Helping someone else achieve that same feeling makes me feel great. Finally, I'm also big and strong. I grew up on a farm so I'm quite handy to have around whenever some heavy lifting is needed.

I am very keen to learn, have an agile strong mind, not afraid from hard work, in the meantime I have good sense of humour, like to have fun. My quote: "Life is too short."- enjoy it! I bought my Canon in 2011, since then, I am practicing, continuously buying new equipments, reading photography books, and learn Photoshop on my own. I like traveling, can drive a car, whenever I can, I escape and go for a trip and take some pictures. I have no particular field in photography, I rather like to catch a moment, a feeling, an act. I think, I have a good sense and skill to do photography which is improving rapidly, therefore I would like to join a professional to learn every bits.

In my own work I have had to learn more skills which may be helpful to you to such as social media, promotion, hiring crew and general production.
