About

I am a recent gradate of BA (Hons) in Photography and now seeking full time freelance photographic assistant work. I am based near York but am more than willing to travel for assisting work to Leeds or around the north. I have taken on a few projects of my own which have included nightlife photography, live band shoots, family photo shoots and wedding receptions. I have also worked on the set of the ITV programme Emmerdale shadowing their photographer for a day. I am very interested in photojournalism and documentary photography, particularly that which involves candid situations such as travel and street photography. As often as I can I like to get away and explore with my camera, so travelling to my place of work is not an issue for me. I am also very passionate about photography as a means of communication and ways in which it engages the viewer. I am inspired by photographers such as Dorothy Lange, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Doisneau. I am very friendly, honest and hard working, and most of all I am very keen to learn new skills on all levels. I have used a some studio lighting and have some knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom. I have knowledge of using 35mm digital (canon eos range) and film camera equipment and I am also confident processing films and using darkroom equipment to process prints.
