Hi! I'm Flora Luna, an Italian photographer, retoucher and assistant! I worked hard to became a photographer and to be a urban explorer. I've always been a lover of imagination and a creative person. I have many interests such as Art, music, travels, that is the main reason why I approached the photography world many years ago. I love to observe what people leave behind, in the environment around them, in their lives. I love to create amazing stories.? I am a friendly, dynamic and hardworking person, I like to engage with customers and people, have fun. As a freelance photographer, I'm a quick learner and self starter with high energy, absolutely well-versed in every kind of photography. Currently, I am freelancing at the Big Sky studio as a studio assistant where I have experienced a very professional setting that I am proud to put in my career path. I have learned how a professional studio works with as little as six people and then jumping to twenty four people. The clients vary every day and it has taught me how to deal with various situations; taking initiative is a huge aspect of being a studio assistant. Starting the day by setting up the studio, helping with catering, cleaning and generally helping around the studio really boosted my morale. Everyone at the studio is always ready for action and help each other whenever needed. At the end of the day, I have to clear up the studio, input all details regarding the studio on to the system. As well as paperwork, I have to paint the infinity backdrop which varies in size. When the studio is all prepared for next day we call it a day and look forward to the next day with new clients and new adventure. I have been working as a Hotel Photographer from PixelHolidays at Malta, where my responsibilities lies within great customer service and excellent communication skills due to high number to tourists and hotel guests interacting with me at all times. Most of the customers are coming from all over the world; therefore, we have to make sure our communication skills are up to satisfactory level in order to make sales. Assisting photographers like Tim Flach and Alan Powdrill gave me the confidence to take matters into my own hands and resolve any issues. I am always eager towards learning new skills and improve my own at any given situations; I am also very observant, which helps me to be aware of my surroundings and adapt myself to others needs. This doesn't stop me from asking questions or do things properly by consenting other member of the experienced crew. In my final year at university, I held an exhibition at the Free Range show where I handled many different types of prints and ensured all the installation pieces were carefully wrapped and transported safely. I have been praised for my competence and patience by my tutors during any project that were handed to us e.g. hours of darkroom practice, teaching first and second years on positive film development etc.

Ive been working in the photographic industry since 2008. In that time I've held both freelance and full time positions as a photo assistant, digital operator, studio manager and production manager. I am a Phase One Certified Professional and equally experienced and capable with lighting and digital work. Before moving to London in 2015 I was based between South Africa and Germany. Over the years I have worked on projects across all genres from still life studio shoots to on location outdoor projects in difficult environments. I most enjoy advertising, portraiture, lifestyle, travel and documentary work. I'm can provide a list of references on request. This is summary of the equipment I have most experience with: CAMERA: Phase One (Certified Professional). Hasselblad. Canon. Nikon. Sony. Mamiya. Pentax DIGITAL: Capture One (Certified Professional). Lightroom. Photoshop. Bridge. Mac OS. Wacom graphics tablet LIGHTING: Strobe lighting including Profoto. Broncolor. Briese. Elinchrom? Constant lighting including HMI. Tungsten. Kino flow. LED's. Dedo light? EQUIPMENT RENTAL: I can provide a digital capture location kit including: Macbook Pro Retina. Eizo Monitor. Workcase + Tripod. Hyperjuice Battery. Tether cables. Wacom graphics tablet. I also have Camera Kit (Nikon D850 + lenses) available. I believe that doing my job well allows a photographer to put more of their energy into making great pictures while knowing that the technical details and everything outside the viewfinder is taken care of - whether its lighting, digital workflow or logistics. My priority is making sure images are safe and up to standard but thats just where the job starts. I've hauled gear up snowy mountains in Switzerland, camping overnight to catch the sunrise. I've held back traffic in the hectic streets of Maputo and held onto photographers while they hang out of moving cars descending mountain passes on Mallorca. I'm happy making coffee for clients in studio or making sure everyones getting enough water when its 40C in the Namibian desert. I can handle a 12 x 12 scrim in Cape Town's fierce south easterly wind or stay up through the night preparing images for a deadline?its all part of the job and with 10 years in the business you can trust me to do it well. Please feel free to give me call if you'd like to discuss any projects or have any questions Thanks!

Hi, I've assisted for 4,5 years now and absolutely love it. When not assisting or second shooting, I work on my own stuff (weddings, portraits and events), but have no other commitments. What I can do for you: get your camera, laptop, lights, background etc. ready; take direction very well; get along with everyone on a shoot really well from the get go; focus on the job throughout the shoot. I have been told have a very good eye for small detail, have a great attitude and lots of initiative. I learn very quickly, am hands on and don't mind getting mucky/any "small tasks". If it's fast paced it's OK: I worked as a store manager for nearly 7 years so I'm used "thinking on my feet" and staying calm under pressure. I can also do basic grooming and styling. With regards to programs, I personally use Lightroom and Photoshop CS4, but when assisting I also use Capture One, Leaf and Phocus. I do my own website so I know basic Dreamweaver. I shoot Canon, but most photographers I have assisted use Nikon and I'm comfortable with both. I am based in North London and happy to travel (I've been on shoots all around the UK -Sheffield, Glasgow, Southampton, Dorset, Cambridge, Birmingham, Brighton etc). I am eligible to work in the UK (I'm from the EU) and am fully insured with public liability insurance (covered up to 5 million), professional indemnity and cover for my kit. I'm available even on short notice; the shortest notice I've had is 1 hour so if you can give me more, that would be nice ;) As long as I haven't already committed to another shoot, I'll definitely be there -on time and ready to go.

- Graduate MA Photography and Urban Cultures from Goldsmiths, University of London I have extensive experience in both assisting and photography. Over the past few years I have been working on and developing my personal practice as well as assisting in wide variety and photographic and video shoots. I have worked on projects ranging from commercial / fashion to documentary and therefore feel perfectly comfortable working in the studio or on location. I have ample experience working with different photographic and image software, mainly: Photoshop CS6, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Lightroom and Capture One. I use a combination of digital and analog cameras and formats in my personal work, so I am familiar with and feel comfortable handling a variety of camera systems (Canon, Nikon, Leica, Mamiya, Hasseblad, Yashica, Ricoh). I also know how to handle and digitally scan film. I am very friendly, creative, hard working, dependable and a good problem solver. I love assisting, take direction well and don't mind the long hours or working in harsh weather. Every assisting assingment is a new and great challenge, it's also a fantastic and invaluable opportunity to learn and see how other photographers go about doing their thing. Being a photographer myself I know how hard it can be to get the shot you want sometimes but I also know the great satisfaction that comes when you actually do. Helping someone else achieve that same feeling makes me feel great. Finally, I'm also big and strong. I grew up on a farm so I'm quite handy to have around whenever some heavy lifting is needed.
