Day rate calculator
"What should I charge?" is the question every assistant asks. Pick your role, experience, and where you're working, and we'll show you a realistic UK day rate — based on our own 2026 data. It's a guide to argue from, not a rule to hide behind.
A realistic day rate for this looks like
£250–£400 / day
• Rates assume a 10-hour day. Beyond that, overtime (typically time-and-a-half) should apply — agree it before the shoot starts.

Setting your rate
If you're starting out, don't undercut yourself into oblivion — a rate set too low signals inexperience more than value. Know the going rate, factor in your costs (travel, insurance, the days you don't work), and state your rate clearly when a job comes in.
