Ive been working in the photographic industry since 2008. In that time I've held both freelance and full time positions as a photo assistant, digital operator, studio manager and production manager. I am a Phase One Certified Professional and equally experienced and capable with lighting and digital work. Before moving to London in 2015 I was based between South Africa and Germany. Over the years I have worked on projects across all genres from still life studio shoots to on location outdoor projects in difficult environments. I most enjoy advertising, portraiture, lifestyle, travel and documentary work. I'm can provide a list of references on request. I believe that doing my job well allows a photographer to put more of their energy into making great pictures while knowing that the technical details and everything outside the viewfinder is taken care of - whether its lighting, digital workflow or logistics. My priority is making sure images are safe and up to standard but thats just where the job starts. I've hauled gear up snowy mountains in Switzerland, camping overnight to catch the sunrise. I've held back traffic in the hectic streets of Maputo and held onto photographers while they hang out of moving cars descending mountain passes on Mallorca. I'm happy making coffee for clients in studio or making sure everyones getting enough water when its 40C in the Namibian desert. I can handle a 12 x 12 scrim in Cape Town's fierce south easterly wind or stay up through the night preparing images for a deadline?its all part of the job and with 10 years in the business you can trust me to do it well. Having previously worked for the likes of Bowens and Rotolight and having the opportunity to talk at The Photography show, SWPP and numerous smaller shows I come with an extreme depth of knowledge in terms of workflow, lighting and post production. I am a freelance Photographer , when I am not working on personal projects and shooting I would like to gain experience working with others. I am a sponsored Photographer - Capture One and Peli and have strong links in the photo industry as a full time photographer myself there isn't much I am not used to or cant operate. When I graduated from Reading University, my career counselor gave me what I consider to be some pretty bad advice: "Just get any job, and figure the rest out later." While I think I could have gained good transferrable skills and on-the-job experience anywhere, I wanted to make sure my first step gave me opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and useful hands on experience with the medium, and I have had an amazing 10 years, I'm now just returned from Shanghai, looking for my next opportunity to learn new skills and get great shots no matter what! My portfolio has been taken from a range of photographic opportunities I've been afforded over the years, from fashion, glamour, portraiture through to interior, product and reproduction. Attributes I can bring to your organization, a strong understanding of light through the lens, and knowledge of most camera platforms including technical. A love and knowledge for the subject from Man Rays Ray'Ogram to Sony's mirrorless digital revolution. I am a practising architectural photographer currently based in London. I have also worked as a photography lecturer for the past 5 years, have a degree in photography from Southampton Solent University and have a solid base of technical skills including; lighting, camera setups and post-production. I have a strong knowledge of studio and location lighting. Strong editing and file organisation using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Capture One. I have a full drivers license and a reliable car. London based freelance assistant. Food/product/interiors experience preferred. Although I am new to the role of an assistant, I am experienced in studio portraiture and the lighting set up required for particular effects. I am experienced in the use of Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance my photographs to achieve the very best quality that I can. I am also a very experienced equine and sports photographer. I have photographed for Retraining of Racehorses, British Horse Society, CLIC Sargent Cancer Charity, Active Triathlons, and am the resident photographer for Clare Poole Show Team. I have also covered many equine shows, rugby games, and triathlons on a freelance basis. I am a confident and very personable individual who enjoys working with a team to create great images. I am organised and hardworking. As an experienced educator, I have delivered workshops, 1-1 training and classroom lessons. I am happy to travel anywhere for projects and am currently completing my MA Photography through Falmouth University. I am looking to gain experience as an assistant and use this to help in the production of even better work.
