Currently, I am freelancing at the Big Sky studio as a studio assistant where I have experienced a very professional setting that I am proud to put in my career path. I have learned how a professional studio works with as little as six people and then jumping to twenty four people. The clients vary every day and it has taught me how to deal with various situations; taking initiative is a huge aspect of being a studio assistant. Starting the day by setting up the studio, helping with catering, cleaning and generally helping around the studio really boosted my morale. Everyone at the studio is always ready for action and help each other whenever needed. At the end of the day, I have to clear up the studio, input all details regarding the studio on to the system. As well as paperwork, I have to paint the infinity backdrop which varies in size. When the studio is all prepared for next day we call it a day and look forward to the next day with new clients and new adventure. I have been working as a Hotel Photographer from PixelHolidays at Malta, where my responsibilities lies within great customer service and excellent communication skills due to high number to tourists and hotel guests interacting with me at all times. Most of the customers are coming from all over the world; therefore, we have to make sure our communication skills are up to satisfactory level in order to make sales. Assisting photographers like Tim Flach and Alan Powdrill gave me the confidence to take matters into my own hands and resolve any issues. I am always eager towards learning new skills and improve my own at any given situations; I am also very observant, which helps me to be aware of my surroundings and adapt myself to others needs. This doesn't stop me from asking questions or do things properly by consenting other member of the experienced crew. In my final year at university, I held an exhibition at the Free Range show where I handled many different types of prints and ensured all the installation pieces were carefully wrapped and transported safely. I have been praised for my competence and patience by my tutors during any project that were handed to us e.g. hours of darkroom practice, teaching first and second years on positive film development etc.

My interest in photography started reading NatGeo magazines that my parents used to buy when I was a child. My dad, an amateur photographer, gave me my first (film) camera as a birthday present about 15 years ago. I learnt how to develop a film and I remember being in a darkroom was one of the most fantastic and relaxing things in the world for me back then and I swore never to fall for digital. Not sure how it happened but I eventually gave in to it and got my first digital camera in 2005. I now can say I love both film and digital photography. I think they are both cool in their own way! These days I shoot mostly digital but have recently started shooting with film again for fun! Only disadvantage is no access to a darkroom. Regarding my digital skills I took a professional digital photography course in a great photography school in Spain. I've taken photographs for Kew Gardens and I'm currently taking photos for The National Trust. I was also once a volunteer at a workshop given by a Magnum/NatGeo photographer (mostly logistics and translations but also had the opportunity to attend all the talks and see him in action). Recently I have been getting experience working as a second shooter for a wedding photographer.
